MailChimp allows you to send bulk email messages (such as this e-bulletin) to a mailing list. What’s special about this is the ability to track how many people opened your message. If you’ve ever struggled to synchronise files between more than one computer and/or mobile device, you’ll be blown away by Dropbox. Apart from the very clever software which sits on each computer/device to ensures files can be synchronised in real time, it has the added benefit of acting like an off-site backup. You can also share folders with anyone you like through the Dropbox website. Under the free “basic” account, you get 2GB of space which for a “swap” area, is more than ample.
With Skype it really is “good to talk”. You can talk (using a headset or a Skype handset) to anyone else with a Skype account absolutely free, which is particularly good if you make lots of international calls, or if you travel a lot.
